Should I invest in Cleric F or Cleric M in Spiritwish?

Written by Languor

This is a question I still hear circulating around daily. Whether it’s from the unofficial community Discord, Reddit or from world chat – everyone asks… “Should I build Cleric M or Cleric F?”. Today I’m going to be giving you the answer to that question as well as the solid reasoning and facts surrounding it. This way, regardless of my suggestion you can use the information in front of you to make your own decision.

TLDR; If you have both, build Cleric M. If you have only Cleric F, build her. If you get Cleric M down the line you can either choose to stay with Cleric F or change to Cleric M.

My suggestion is to go with Cleric M if you have the choice and Cleric F if you don’t. It’s not worth it in my opinion to switch if you have a Cleric F already at level 50~.

The TLDR of this post is to build Cleric M. If you can’t, then Cleric F is completely fine. Honestly in terms of PvP – both currently don’t do much and in terms of PvE there are minor differences. I’ll go through the differences below and you can use this information to make your own decision in case you don’t agree with my suggestion.

Cleric M and Cleric F have slightly different skills

The main thing about the two are that their skills differ slightly. You might have heard a little about this while trying to search around for information. Let me show you which skills are different.

Note: Please disregard skill level as we are looking at what the skills do as opposed to how much they do.

Blessing (CF & CM)

Let’s start off with blessing. This is a skill that increases character ATK. Both Cleric M and Cleric F have it BUT the main difference is that Cleric F blessing maxes out at 10% ATK as opposed to Cleric M’s 20% ATK. As you can see below, each level gives Cleric F 0.5% ATK increase whereas for Cleric M it gives 1%.

Divine Protection (CF) / Divine Will (CM)

These two are defensive skills and are one in the same with different names. Honestly, I don’t see these two getting much use on either character. Although it could be considered for building a wall / bruiser PvP team in the future as defense level is very strong.

Benediction (CF) / Divine Harmony (CM)

These two are also defensive skills. Divine Harmony is very worth using but Benediction is underwhelming and I can’t see it having much value other than for niche tank team compositions.

Divine Harmony is great if you are trying to train in an area that is higher level than your characters as well as PvPing higher level teams. EVD is always better than DEF/HP in my opinion as completely avoiding damage beats just tanking it.

Benediction maxes out at 20% increased DEF and Divine Harmony maxes out at 20% ACC/EVD.

Halo (CF) / Punishment (CM)

These two are offensive skills and actually, I favor Halo. Punishment is very mysterious. It says, “combat abilities” but we don’t know what that entails. Is that ATK? DMG? ASPD? So many things could be under that category. Regardless, it still stacks with Blessing and does make a difference in overall damage.

I like Halo because you can actually combo the holy damage with a holy damage trait on one of your costume, weapons or armors. That could maximize your damage with this buff and you can actually see clearly how much bonus damage you’re doing thanks to it.

Halo maxes out at 20% Holy DMG and Punishment maxes out at 20% “combat abilities”

Techniques

I think that was all in terms of skill differences. Now what’s left is differences in techniques. There are only a few techniques worth mentioning, let’s go over them very quickly.

Teachings of Virok: DMG Increase (CM)

This is a technique that only Cleric M has. It increases damage of all support characters by 11% and that number increases by 1% per level up to 30%. At level 1 it gives so much value for very little gold. If you’re running Cleric M and Paladin then this skill is very valuable to you. On the other hand if you wanted to re-invent the meta and run triple support maybe this skill might make it a little viable. Cleric F does not have this technique.

Teachings of Virok: Crit Rate (CF)

This is a technique that only Cleric F has. I think this is a neat one. Combo hit and CRIT rate versus the Cleric M’s attack DMG. I’m not sure which one is better to tell you the truth. Although keep in mind that this is for support character only.

Power Swing (CF)

This sounds like a very cool technique that only Cleric F has. If you wanted to play around with light club team compositions then perhaps it’ll do you good in PvP. I can see a very annoying bruiser/wall perma stun team come along thanks to this technique.

Conclusion

Cleric F is more on the defensive side forcefully because of having her blessing being less effective than Cleric M’s blessing. She has better techniques (arguably) but also 25 less stat points as she is a common character. Her heals are the same but it seems the overall verdict is that with 25 less stat points and a worse blessing – Cleric M is better. The extra technique Power Swing cannot seem to redeem this fact.

Cleric M is a healer that offers slightly more offensive support compared to Cleric F. He has 25 extra stats compared to the female variant because he is an enchanted character. He lacks an additional good technique other than Teachings of Virok DMG Increase but overall it seems like the extra stats and blessing ATK % make him the better pick.

Cleric M is the better choice but not by a long shot, Cleric F is still viable.

If you have a Cleric M and Cleric F and you don’t know which one to pick, choose the male variant.

If you don’t know whether or not to switch from Cleric F mid game to Cleric M, stick with Cleric F.

Honestly, you only need a Cleric to sustain  yourself in PvE to train to level 70 as the mobs hit you for a lot later on. That is, if you don’t have your legendary++ armors.

You’ll end up swapping your Cleric later for another DPS unit anyway so don’t stress out over the CM or CF question.
